The Physical Wellbeing 5 with Phil Sarpong
1. What is your favourite quote, anecdote, proverb or experience that helps with mental wellbeing?
Phil: “The greatest investment in life is in people.” -Dr. Myles Monroe
2. What is your top piece of advice for mental wellbeing?
Phil: Physical wellbeing starts in our minds. Rather than focusing on calories or weighing yourself on a scale, physical wellbeing begins with loving who you are in the mirror, forgiving yourself, being gracious to yourself, and using that positive energy as motivation to be the best version of yourself. When you pour love into yourself, you get a better result than the first; it’s not perfection but its progress.
3. What is the one change in the world that you would like to see? (in your area of wellbeing or in the world in general or both)
Phil: One change that I would like to see in the world is more people that listen to and respect each other by celebrating their differences instead of tearing them down. That includes people who have differing views, opinions, and perspectives. I believe we can live in a world where diversity of thought and culture can be commonplace rather than obstacles. We’re all human beings made in the same image of love. Let’s treat each other with kindness.
4. Which resources (books / websites / videos etc) for wellbeing would you recommend?
Phil: Books- Spiritual Physiology by Philip Sarpong, Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg
5. What’s the one thing that always makes you smile?
Phil: One thing that makes me smile is the gift that I receive when I make someone else happy, whether through my work, family, or friends and relationships.
