The Mental Wellbeing 5 with Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino

1. What is your favourite quote, anecdote, proverb or experience that helps with mental wellbeing?

Elizabeth: “May Gratitude Guide You” is something we’ve been saying to our four sons since they were born.  They will be 20, 22, 24 and 26 this year and all agree the message has guided them often.  Personally, I operate most aspects of my life from a quote from my book Percolate, which is “Everything Must Percolate.”  This allows everything time, with a sense of self-confidence.

2. What is your top piece of advice for mental wellbeing?

Elizabeth: My top piece of advice is to remember your value.  Often, we drift away from ourselves forgetting self-love, self-worth and we lose sight of our value.  This can often happen as we grow out of our comfort zones and search for our footing and value in new areas. It’s very common when we make change or navigate change.  My advice is to surround yourself with love. Keep a close circle of people who know your value under all circumstances, know your goals, dreams and you authentically.

I also wish to help everyone I encounter understand how much their time and moments matter.  Each moment is an opportunity for your leadership.

3. What is the one change in the world that you would like to see? (in your area of wellbeing or in the world in general or both)

Elizabeth: My wish for the world is to Percolate Peace. When we let our best selves filter through, we percolate peace.  I also believe that random acts of kindness create waves of peace.  These ideas can be found in my book Percolate – Let Your Best Self Filter Through (Hay House 4/14/14.)

4. Which resources (books / websites / videos etc) for wellbeing would you recommend?

Elizabeth: I’d love for everyone to join free at BestEverYou.com and know more about the resources we have available, many at no charge to help everyone.  Your moments matter and we are here for you.  Our focus is you.  Kris Fuller and I published a 52-week guided journal, which comes with a free class and private Facebook group.  It’s called Best Ever You: 52 Week Journal to Your Bravest, Boldest You.

We also offer Percolate Daily, which is daily inspiration with both of us each day for 5 minutes.  We hope to turn this into an app soon as well.  You can register at https://www.besteveryou.com/inspiration.

Also, I am writing a new book called The Change Guidebook (HCI 2022) and am very much looking forward to helping people navigate change whether it is a change they want to make or they are dealing with unforeseen circumstances.  My goal is to help several million people with this new book.

5. What’s the one thing that always makes you smile?

Elizabeth: One thing that always brings me joy and makes me smile is my family.  The pool opening each year after the winter is always a joy-filled moment too 🙂
